Children communicate through play, and play therapy provides a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore, express, and grow. Through the use of play in therapy, children are able to communicate their experiences, emotions, and behaviors in their most natural language. In sessions, children have the opportunity to therapeutically engage in play in ways they choose, using toys, art, and sandtray to express themselves.
Play therapy sessions are typically schedule once or twice per week for 45 minutes. Depending on the needs of your child and your family, I will also meet with parents without the child present every 3-4 sessions to discuss progress and learn how things are going at home.
I also facilitate Child Parent Relational Therapy either in a one-on-one format or in a group setting. Please see the resources below for more information about Play Therapy, Child Parent Relational Therapy, and Sandtray.
